When I was 10 years old, I had to move to a new school which made me terribly sad to leave all my friends, my favorite playground, and my amazing teachers who were all females. They were my second family who showered me infinite love. But then I had to get pulled out of that womb. Now picture this: a spoiled overweight kid with chubby cheeks, being transferred to the harshest school in town. To me, it was the school of Monsters and I’d have nightmares that they’re eating me alive. I’d have tantrums with my family ….on the floor crying in ugly ways as a resistance to go to school, because I was badly bullied, and called names like “takh takh” meaning fatty boy in English, and many other names.

Then one day, I met a student who was new to the school too. Fate wanted us to be seated together, and our souls instantly clicked. We would talk, play, laugh and spend time like there is no tomorrow. Suddenly, I felt there was a beautiful silence in the Monsters school, it turned to my little heaven, I couldn’t even hear the bullying words. I’d impatiently look forward to go to School just to see my friend and spend the day together. This little friend of mine taught me that there is beauty in this world beyond imagination. And there is always light, even in the darkest places.
