“Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself, in your way of thinking.” Marcus Aurelius Antoninus
Not a single day goes by without questions about how to stay motivated, how to stay on track, how to be excited about what I am doing, how to stay grounded and balanced.
It all started when I was 17 years old and during Valentine’s day, I decided that I would give a card to a girl from my class and I roped in one of my friends for assistance. That day coincided with the 12th standard pre-board exams. She was the class topper and I topped the class from the bottom of the list.
I gave the card (with a little poem), ran away and after that never heard from her, ever again. But plenty of others chipped in with their “who do you think you are”, “did you look in the mirror”, “threats”, “advice” and everything else. That day I realized I did not have to explain and justify my actions. I did what I felt was right and walked away from it all.
When everyone else was running after CA / Java / MBA, I took a road less travelled. Took my dignity and kept walking knowing I am the master of my own fate. I spent a few years in retail fast food – managed the 3rd biggest store in SW England for #Greggs as Asst. Store Manager before finding my calling with what I am doing now – #digitalmarketingstrategy & #seoconsulting
While all those who ridiculed and threatened me focused on building material wealth, I built respect, trust and credibility by providing value in the manner that helped me to be a better person – professionally and personally.
