When I was 5, my father took the training wheels off my cycle and started to teach me to ride without them. On one such ride, I took a massive spill into an open drain. Traumatised by the incident, I refused to ride my cycle for days. Then one day, I’m not sure what got into me, I pulled the cycle out and started out on my own. My father came to help me and I said “I will do it MEself”. I got on the bike and rode off by myself. That day, I must have learnt that I can trust myself because ‘I will do it MEself’ became a common refrain of mine. I loved being hands on and doing everything on my own. But as I got older, doing everything by myself started to take a toll both personally and professionally. I learnt that I cannot do everything on my own and the ability to ask for help is not a sign of weakness but strength. So although I still do a lot of things ‘MEself’, I’ve understood that it’s also okay to ask for help. #LittleMeInspiringMe
