Since I was a kid I had passion for basketball and I used to train not less than ten hours a week. MeDream was to play official games. Mecoach had big hopes in MePerformance due to the fact that I have proved MeDedication on court. The privilege that I was always given by my coach had raised MeEgo to an extent that I thought I would be irreplaceable. The dream had increased to championship level.
I entered the final game, MeFocus was on the trophy but I didn’t pay any attention that the coach also has a target with zero compromise. MePerformance during the final game was not to the desired expectation and still I was thinking that I am irreplaceable until the moment I saw myself sitting on the bench.
Sad and mad, I did a quick personal review to conclude that winning the game necessitates a ‘free of ego’ team play and that performance can’t be an option.
I immediately shifted MeFocus from the trophy to the conclusion I came up with and I asked the coach to give me another chance. He wouldn’t take the risk as he was not satisfied with MePerformance in the first half. During the second half a player was knocked out and the coach looked in MeEyes saying “I want the win”. It took few seconds for MeFighting spirit to burn the ego and kill the selfishness. I scored 28 points in 20 minutes.
To #Inspire at the work place, an ego free performance is nothing but #Leadership.Topped with wisdom and knowledge you become a #rolemodel Leader. Never compromise the #MeTalent as it is your strength to build upon.
