I am proud and happy to say that I spent the first 20 years of my working life with an organization which enabled me to develop the skills and capabilities to become an effective leader. The organization reposed tremendous trust in me and invested in me enormously. In the process of taking huge risks, I was made to handle different functions and critical roles. The entire team supported and guided me formally and informally to ensure that I succeed in my role. And that is when I realized the power of teamwork, and in this case, it was both a formal and informal team. The organization gave me a role far beyond my knowledge, skill and experience putting at risk 25% of the company’s turnover. With all this, I was energized to put in my best, I just couldn’t let all of them down. It changed my perspective and made me understand the power of teamwork and trust.
