Since my childhood, I have seen many women with greatness. However, I am literally blessed and proud of what I am today is all because of my mother. Her care towards my family, sacrifices which she had overcome for these many years is #Immeasurable.

Although she had to take care of my family, she also achieved success in her business. She had failed so many times and whenever she comes back, she gives a positive hope and strength to bring the good vibes to stay longer. Her confidence in life and struggles she had gone through will be her #immeasureableStrength which I want to give this badge to her on this international Women’s day

This #internationalwomensday, I want to shift focus to myself and what I think I deserve. I would give myself a badge for being ALWAYS CURIOUS. Be it learning a new tool for work, exploring new recipes in the kitchen, or finding new avenues for mental relaxation (crafts, crochet), I’m curious to learn new things. On a typical day, I would read in-depth about anything ranging from chain stitches to quantum entanglement. And I truly believe that this is a quality that has built in me the humility to accept that I know very little and the certainty that I will spend every day on this earth wondering about ‘stuff’ and finding out how ‘stuff’ works. #WoWoman

Our young super-talented Managing Partner and Sales leader of an organization that proudly calls itself “the google of influencers”.
 
Priya has learnt the art of fearlessly speaking up when required and ensures that she never compromises on her ethics. Priya is self-aware and knows that she has demonstrated a very competitive streak since childhood, in her many endeavours. Her love for sports and the many leadership positions held during and post her formative years have defined her team building and leadership style.
 
Her relationship building skills is her biggest asset and has allowed her to excel in the field of Sales, Marketing and Advertising. Priya takes mentorship to heart and loves to contribute to the growth and future of other talented women leaders.
 
She feels more women should become mentors and break the myth that women like to report to male bosses.

I believe I deserve the #WoWomen badge for my #InnerDrive!

We interviewed 26 women leaders across Asia in 2021 and launched the WOW Factors Research Report in March 2022, it was indeed a WOW Moment for us at Global Coaching Lab LLP.

We also realised that behind every women leader out there as role models, there is a rich tapestry of life experiences that has led them to become who they are today. Celebrating their tenacity and drive to go that extra mile to make a difference.

#Continuouslearning is a great virtue to pursue but a spark is required to keep the momentum. #Curiosity kindles the lamp of learning.

I am inspired by two #women who are ever curious and learning. My mother might skip her food but does not skip the cross word in newspapers. It is amazing to see her enthusiasm flipping through the bulky Oxford dictionary to solve the puzzles- after a hectic schedule managing the household. Changing with the times, Amma has switched to Meriam webster dictionary in her smartphone but the quest for learning continues to rage. It is amazing to see the satisfaction in her face having solved #thehindu crossword.

I see the “#childlike curiosity” in action by my little niece. It is every moment learning for her-whether it is watching an auto in the road, watering a baby plant or trying to eat on her own. 
I am inspired by the duo to for their curiosity to learn and acknowledge them as #WOWoman #IWD2023

Most of the #women whom I have come across are very quiet in general. They may be exceptional when it comes to their professional or functional domain. But very few speak up. Very few challenge the status quo. Somehow they are mostly contended.

Here is a woman leader who just breaks all these #biases & #selflimitingbeliefs.

Here is a woman leader who is just not happy with fulfilling her responsibilities, but always wants to be a good #strategist and thinks beyond the current.

Here is a woman leader who always believes that #people are the building blocks to create a successful #organization .

Here is a woman leader who not only leads the HR function of GAVS Technologies but also wants to ensure her HR strategies are in great alignment with business vision and goals of the organization.

I remember one of the recent conversations. When asked, “How challenging is your role now?”. She immediately responded, “If it was not a challenging one, I wouldn’t have taken this role”.

Here is a woman leader who always displays a #ChallengerMindset.

Whenever we open a social media profile, we are inundated with different voices and opinions. Speaking up has become much easier in the days of social media platforms. And yet in the most important professional and personal equations, speaking up can be one of the most daunting tasks, more so for #women.

We have been conditioned to repress ourselves and not speak up because it is easier to keep the peace than trigger an uncomfortable conversation. I was no exception. I would keep quiet and later it would lead to an outburst or miscommunication. However, in recent years, I have seen how speaking up, although momentarily discomforting, can prevent conflicts, and resentments.

Now, I try to speak up even when it doesn’t sit well with people or makes me feel guilty or doubtful for a short while. Those who are genuine and mean well appreciate the honesty and understand that this gives them greater clarity about me. This is why I am giving myself the badge of “Speaking Up”, hoping that more women will be encouraged to speak up and make choices fearlessly.

There is nothing as powerful as a mother’s love. No matter how much I express my love for my mom, I will always love her more than what mere words can compile.

Today I wanted to pick this badge for my mother because she was a very special woman.

Ours was and still is a large joint family living under the same roof. My father was the eldest of the family with 4 brothers and 1 sister. My mother was only 15 at the time of their marriage (it was common practise to marry very young at that time).

My mother, an outsider, was brought into a home full of people, a large family. She wasn’t overwhelmed, instead she was generous with her love and affection towards everyone. Today, after 28 years of her demise, my family still talks about her and how equality and selflessness were her great strengths. She found great joy in elevating others; every single person in the house was positively impacted by her presence. Thank you mom, for being the woman that every other girl in our family, generations later, still looks up to.
