Krithiga Balasubramanian,

India

This International Women’s Day, let’s dive into the heart of ‘Accelerating Action’. For me, the most significant mindset shift came from internalizing the mantra: ‘done is better than perfect’. It’s a simple phrase, but it revolutionized how I approached my work and life.

Like many women, I often found myself trapped in the cycle of  planning and analyzing, which too often led to analysis paralysis – a state of inaction driven by the fear of not meeting those self-imposed ideals. I’d delay things, hesitate to share ideas, and miss opportunities, all in the pursuit of an unattainable ‘perfect’ outcome.

My leap came when I stopped waiting for the ‘perfect’ plan and started taking incremental steps. I learned to embrace experimentation, to fail forward, and to celebrate progress, not just perfection.

So, don’t wait for everything to align. Start small, learn as you go, and trust that your actions will build momentum. What sparked your leap? I’m eager to hear your stories!

Ch Srinivas Rao,

India

When one woman takes action, it creates a ripple effect. I saw this firsthand with Rachel Walter, CPTD, a leader who didn’t just climb the ladder—she reached back to pull others up with her.

Her commitment to creating a great learning culture with innovative L&D initiatives showed me that accelerating action isn’t just about personal success—it’s about lifting others along the way.

Who’s the woman who inspired you to pay it forward? Share her story and tag her to show your gratitude. Let’s keep the ripple effect going with AccelerateAction.

Trusting the inner voice

Sripriyaa Venkataraman,

Singapore

Everytime I take a step forward courageously,There is an inner voice that tells me, I can’t. Everytime I take a step forward curiously,There is an inner voice that tells me to slow down. Every time I take a step forward compassionately, There is an inner voice that tells me, I am weak.

Everytime I take a step forward with clarity, There is an inner voice that tell me not to trust. Every time I take a step forward now, I have started to believe my inner voice and many other unknown voices around me. In spite of the daily battle between the inner and outer, Life moves on.

If we still make it beyond this line, we often forget to thank ourselves for taking action. As we again believe that it happened only because of a hundred Kudos to the innerdrive , InnerStrength that serves us as a spark to arrive, strive and thrive in our roles. Trusting the inner voice voices around us. Kudos to the innerdrive  InnerStrength that serves us as a spark to arrive, strive and thrive in our roles.

If you don’t take a risk, how would you know what you CAN overcome?

Chandrani Datta,

India

When I was at the fag end of my first job, I was applying to different media houses in Delhi. The choice of the city was defined by the fact that I knew enough people there who could help me with adjustment. When I did land another job, the organisation told me that while the headquarters of the company was in Delhi, I had to work out of Mumbai—a city completely unknown to me. I had no acquaintances there and it was expensive for someone at the start of her career.

I reconsidered the offer and wondered if staying back was a better decision. I informed my then boss expecting him to discourage me.Much to my surprise, he said, “Why NOT this city if you want to move ahead for growth? If you don’t take a risk, how would you know what you CAN overcome?” That shifted my perspective and made me think harder about the stakes.

Even if the job didn’t work out, I would have learnt something and progressed in some ways. The city went on to become my second home. Till this day I am grateful to my boss and that leap of faith for leading me to a journey that taught me a lot about adaptability, resilience and most importantly, independence.
